Shawn Gurcharran is an accomplished banking executive and financial services leader with more than 20 years of progressive experience in the finance industry. As CEO of Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry, he currently leads the largest indigenous bank in Guyana, the world’s fastest-growing economy. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Corporate Governance Institute, and holds a Master’s degree with a specialization in Finance from Heriot-Watt University’s Edinburgh Business School, and is also a graduate of the Wharton School’s Executive Development Program. In addition to his executive responsibilities, Shawn serves on the Board of the Small Business Council and the Guyana Revenue Authority’s VAT Appeal Board.
